Full-Stack Web Developer – Brigham Young University

Job Summary
This position will interface with clients, management, artists, and vendors to develop commercial-quality marketing collateral in the form of splash pages, websites, web tools, and apps. This position directs the creative and technical production of student developers, writers, editors, and production staff. He or she will also personally produce and maintain the following types of media: asset management stock photography and video database; online shopping cart/point-of-sale; websites, including design and analysis; email platforms; and local server configurations. The ideal candidate will be forward-thinking and able to complete back end and front end programming assignments; adhere to best-practice design principles; build and recommend web pages, platforms, and tools; proactively solve foreseeable BYU campus website demands; and troubleshoot and streamline in-house marketing processes.

Essential Functions
Web Design, Development, Maintenance, and Analytics (60%)

  • Creation of new web sites
  • UI/UX Design
  • Testing sites for browser compatibility, usability, etc.
  • Modifying and updating existing websites
  • Mobile/responsive web design
  • Using Google Analytics for reporting purposes
  • Fluency in the following programs or languages:
  • HTML5 & Canvas
  • CSS/SASS
  • Bootstrap
  • .NET & C#
  • PHP
  • JavaScript
  • AJAX
  • Angular & Angular 2
  • Familiarity with a variety of content distribution technologies such as; Drupal, WordPress, Moodle, and Weebly. Creation of custom html for Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Maintenance of Adobe digital asset management platform dashboards

Education/Experience

Minimum education/experience required:
We’re looking for strong project ownership, creative ideas, and attention to detail. Projects will involve designing, coding, testing, and deploying, along with collaboration with a small team of student developers and designers. We’re looking for someone that is organized and self-motivated, able to learn and collaborate. Above all, this candidate must possess full-stack development skills: front end, back end, and everything in-between.

Required Experience:

  • 5+ years of front-end and back-end web development experience
  • 3+ years of UI/UX experience
  • Familiarity with the above-mentioned technologies
  • Experience building responsive interfaces within a production environment
  • Experience collaborating with designers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
